This is for a Very Rare Antique James McClurg Co Cracker Box or Wood Crate. Through research this item would have been made in the mid to late 1800’s. John McClurg who was born in 1850 took over the business in the early 1890’s after his father James passed away. It very heavy and has a nail on lid. The front 3/4 of the lid had been removed and is loose and is the portion of the lid you see in the pics that have the label. There’s paper label on the top, front one left side. Some minor peeling small pieces missing with the front having the most damage and the top being pretty intact with very little missing or peeling. It’s very solid and not loose except for the portion of the lid that is no longer nailed on. Approximate dimensions are in the item specifications.
