This cast iron light post features a intricate ornate base as well as equally ornate Globe base. It has wonderful tapered sides that are fluted. I believe this to be from about 1920 or a little. Older, As Salisbury had electric lights installed in the 1880’s within the city. That this was a streetlight used by the city of Salisbury Maryland at one time. Some pictures of Salisbury with some streetlights in them that look the same to me. The 1930’s, Judging by the cars in some of the pictures. Specifications are as follows. The Light measures 113″ or 9’5″ tall over all without The globe base installed. Measures 16 in diameter. The neck without globe base measures just about 3 1/2 in diameter. The bottom of the globe base is just about 3 5/8 in diameter and the top end of the globe base. Is 6 3/8 in diameter. The globe base itself measures about 10 1/2 inches tall. Total height of the light post with a globe installed to be from 11′ to 13′ tall That of course would. Depend on your choice of globe to use. This would be a wonderful Crown Jewel for any estate.
