Unusual Old Moriyama Blue Willow Large Kitchen Refrigerator Box Covered Dish. Great old Moriyama extra large refrigerator box in the blue willow pattern. 3.75″ tall x 11″ long x 6.50 deep. The box has small tab handles at each end with the willow border pattern and a lid with a recessed knob. It feature the traditional blue willow design wrapped completely around all four sides and on the lid the lid. It has the traditional blue will border around the perimeter marked MORIYAMA Made in Japan with the traditional Moriyama flower basket logo. Blue Willow Moriyama refrigerator boxes with lids in good condition are difficult to find. There is crazing on the base and inside bottom of box; there is a pinhole and some uneven transfer places on the lid, all of which are underneath the glaze. I try to describe pieces with detail and encourage you to ask questions, but I feel this is in quite good condition. Please see all pictures for detail/condition and feel free to ask questions. This is a beautiful example of transferware. There are imperfections that make each piece uniquely made. This plate is 11-1/8 x 13-3/4. There is a small chip about 1/8 on the back of the platter. Very hard to notice, unless you are looking for it. There are natural waves in the outer shape of the platter. Photo #5 shows what looks like a chip on the front, but it is completely smooth so I’m not sure. Photo #6 is where the pattern meets. Photo #7 is a line in the design.
