This is a very interesting old set of replica diamonds, “historical diamonds, ” cut out of glass in Germany to their original actual life size. 15 of the major world stones are represented here, you can read their names on each placard. THE SHAH 89 CARATS – PASHA OF EGYPT 40 CARATS – ORLOFF 200 CARATS – PIGGOT 149 CARATS – POLAR STAR 40 CARATS – SANCY 55 CARATS- FLORENTINE 137 – GRAND MOGUL 280 CARATS – OLD KOHINOOR 186 CARATS – NASSAK 81 CARATS – HOPE 45 CARATS BLUE DIAMOND – NEW KOHINOOR 109 CARATS – JUBILEE 245 CARATS- REGENT 141 CARATS- SOUTH STAR 129 CARATS. And each stone fits and its own indentation contained within a black case with the name “historical diamonds” on the front. Not many of these were made, they are VERY rare; it came from a good friend of mine who received it as a gift back in the 1950s in the Diamond District on 47th Street New York City Manhattan.
