VERY RARE, VERY LARGE 16 1/4 Diameter Antique 18th Century Colonial New England PEWTER BOWL. Scans show it all….. Very rare, very early, VERY LARGE antique colonial pewter bowl. PARTICULARLY deep area for food, much deeper than a plate, and clearly made as a bowl. Measures 16 1/4″ in diameter and about 2 1/4″ deep. Could have served a variety of purposes, but much, much scarcer than a typical trencher. Extremely rare to find today compared to plates and other pieces. N be used as a functional item or as very nice AND VERY RARE antique or colonial period decorative item with a collection or on a mantle, in a dining room or kitchen, or on the wall, etc. Definitely an 18th century piece, probably c. 1760-70, and certainly REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD. In nice condition overall with REALLY NICE AGED PATINA. Hows its age and use particularly nicely, and has a nice antique appearance. Originally came out of a local New England pewter collection and has been in my personal collection for many years. A great, special addition to any colonial pewter collection, for display, OR EVEN FOR USE. Would be a great, very unusual, and very timely platter to have to serve a Thanksgiving turkey on!! This bowl measures 12 7/8″ in diameter by 6″ in height this is a very large bowl This has a pattern with raised panels above and below the dark blue band on the side of the bowl. The base of the bowl is impressed with the number 12 representing the size in this pattern. The bowl is in excellent condition with no crazing or spider veining anywhere. Stunning Antique VERY RARE Large Raspberry Peach-flow Chicago Worlds Fair 1893 Crimped Rose Bowl. Hand blown and hand painted. Darker raspberry at the top of the bowl and get slightly light as it goes down to the bottom. The inside of the bowl is white. On one side of the bowl depicts “THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING”. WORLD’S FAIR CHICAGO 1893. I can not tell if the picture is hand painted or a transferware. I don’t see small tiny dots, but I just don’t know. AUSTRIA (on the bottom). Rose bowls were produced to hold assorted rose petals for a visual and fragrant decorative accent- It was used like potpourri today, but can be used as a vase also for a fragrant bouquet. Caesar Crystal Bohemiae extremely rare and highly collectible limited series “Peacock” 8 tall decorative blue vase, authentic top quality hand made 24% lead content crystal from the Czech Republic. CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE Company specializes in manufacturing colourful cased crystal with a 24% PbO (lead oxide)content, which is made by connecting the layer of clear crystal and the layer of colourful crystal at temperatures around 800°C. The spectacular results of this manufacturing process requires the talent of the best and most skilful glassmakers. The demands of this time honoured Bohemian tradition cannot be reproduced by any machines. These traditional skills continue to be employed at CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE glassworks today. Here younger generations of glassmakers inherit the skill of the glass working and craft from older glass masters here. The basic glass materials used in glass melting include glass sand, potash and lime stone. Glass shards are also added into a glass batch in the kiln. Typical Caesar colours are created by melting glass with a mixture of metal oxides. The current palette of colours includes Amber, Azure, Blue, Green, Red and Violet. A black colour, which is useable only for a few shapes and style, is also melt for special design. At each stage of the process the product is scrutinized to ensure it passes the stringent quality control standards. Only after that a product becomes the CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE brand holder.
