Super 7 is a type of gemstone that is a combination of seven different minerals: Amethyst, clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Lepidocrocite, and Goethite. These gemstones are often found together in a single crystal, creating a beautiful and unique gemstone with a wide range of colors and properties. Super 7, also known as Sacred Seven or Melody’s Stone, is considered a very rare gemstone, especially of this quality. To carve a super 7 sphere, a lapidary will use a saw to cut the rough gemstone into a rough sphere shape, then use a grinder and a series of increasingly fine grits of abrasive powders to sand and polish the surface of the sphere until it has a smooth finish. You lose around 3-4x the amount of stone when carving a sphere.
