Large & Very Rare Bergmann Orientalist Bronze. Offered here is a very rare and fine Franz Bergmann Orientalist bronze of a noble Egyptian? Lady with her attendant. They stand on an oriental rug and the attendant cools her with a beautiful fan of ostrich feathers. The lady wears an elaborate headdress and heavy gold jewelry. The piece is noted in Ernst Hrabalek’s. In which he states (page 128): Since these pieces are either no longer or rarely cast, they are rare and valuable. I would agree since this is the only one I’ve seen in over 6o years of collecting. Bronzes, Sculptors, and Founders, includes this piece as Plate 4804. The bronze stands 12″ tall to the top of the fan and the Oriental rug is about 6 ¼” square. The cold painting is better than 99% intact and the colors are rich and vibrant.
