This rare Victorian-era chalkware Antelope measures 9-1/2″ tall and 14-1/2″ across the base. It is in very good condition, with its original textured paint and glass eyes. There is a crack in the base, which may have been repaired; it is on the backside of the base, and it doesn’t appear to go all the way through, and is really only barely noticeable. Slight wear but no damage to the fragile horns and ears, or to its elegant freestanding foreleg. This is a very scarce form in chalkware, and its stylized appearance will add dimension to any estate or collection. This is a fabulous pig bank has the best mocha glaze I’ve ever seen on a bank. In order to produce this decoration, the potter first held the pig upside down and dipped in cream color glaze the dipped it a second time in a multi-color glaze to get this mocha effect. The bank is nicely molded and is in near mint condition with only the slightest of glaze wear to the edge of the snout that doesn’t detract. Measuring 5 ¼ long from snout to tail this is a highly desirable pig bank. This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Plates”. Thank you for visiting! Condition may include any of the following: antique wear, patinas and or tarnishes / rust spots, stains, pitting, bends, micro-cracks, modifications (known or unknown), old tape or other material attached to key and minor defects. Non-key items used in pictures for display, backgrounds and measurements not included or available for sale unless otherwise noted in the description. Only the keys seen in the pictures are included unless otherwise noted. All dating of keys is estimated since keys can be reproduced at any time. Key length sizes are sometimes rounded off to the nearest 1/16 to 1/8 inches. Keys are generally not cleaned to maintain antique nature. All keys seen are steel, iron or other non-brass metals unless otherwise noted. See our other 100+ listed keys! We do not suggest purchasing any key as a replacement unless you know the key will fit. The problem with older keys and locks is that the mechanisms and keys often change due to wear. In addition, key measurements can vary greatly due to small differences in bit cuts, depth, shaft diameter and sizing due to metric vs. Our square end keys, including clock keys are sized by metric standards. I suggest consulting a locksmith to confirm lock / key fitting. Item(s) must be packed in equal protection as received and be tracked/insured (to prevent loss). Non-Sale Items: Items used for backgrounds, props and sizing (rulers and coins) are not included unless otherwise noted. It has been our experience that keys are not seriously damaged when packed as a tight group. Valuable keys or single keys are usually packed individually. Special packing is available upon request, but large groups of common keys cannot be packed individually due to time restraints and postal box size and weight limits. Description: Collector’s must have key – once in a lifetime opportunity. Superior, museum grade 1600’s 1700’s key. Very large, bulky and heavy key. 5.75″ long by 0.59″ wide by 5.7 oz! Hand cut, complex bit. I can just imagine the skill and work it took to make this key. You can still see the file marks on the bit teeth. This is a special key for the serious collector. European origin for an obvious secure lock. (See picture for specifics before biding). Used antique or vintage condition and unless otherwise noted. This item is in the category “Antiques\Architectural & Garden\Hardware\Locks, Latches & Keys”. The seller is “antique-keys” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
