VERY RARE LARGE ANTIQUE 17th CENTURY WROUGHT IRON DOUBLE BETTY CRUSIE OIL LAMP
This is an outstanding very rare large 17th century or early 18th century all wrought iron and all original double Betty, crusie, fat, grease lamp in excellent condition with no repairs, replacements, or additions. This one features a wrought iron sheep horn design in a very large “castle” size lamp. The smaller oil cup attaches to the larger oil cup by means of an iron arm and can be separated into two pieces. It has the original iron hanger that allows it to hang on a mantle, a window, or wherever is handy, or to a beam. The lamp is a large 15 1/2 tall. The larger grease cup is about 6 3/8″ by 6″. Overall excellent condition with no damages and some visible light rust. It is all original. Age related surface wear is to be expected. Please review all photos as the main part of description. Large fibulas from older Iron age period, 8th-7th century BC. They are made of two coils of spirally twisted bronze wire, with two decorative circles on the joint. Fibula is a type of brooch or pin used in ancient times for fastening garments, usually on the shoulder or on the chest. Besides practical, they had a decorative purpose as well, and therefore were made in numerous different forms. I suppose these fibuls were used as a ceremonial, ritual items, due to their size… As you can see, this is a ruptured fibula in fact these are 2 parts of a ruptured fibula. Rare and exceptionally large sized late Georgian intaglio seal ring signed by Pichler or Pixler in Greek script. It depicts a debonair 18th century portrait of a handsome gentleman. From his profile I, age this gentleman could well be the celebrated French writer and philosopher VOLTAIRE AS HE HAS A VERY WELL KNOWN IMAGE AND FAMOUS SIDE VIEW OF HIS UNIQUE noble proboscis! This is a very rare and very over sized gentlemans beautifully modelled seal in a dark brown honey glass signed by the famous Pichler. Working in the classical style the Pichler signed their name in Greek. The name was inscribed backwards on this gem so it would be legible when the ring was pressed into soft sealing wax. Can be sized by a competent jeweller. This is a very elegant, impressive and fine quality ring. Direct from a private collection. Condition is very good with very little surface wear and an insignificant sliver off the back corner of the seal. Size – 3.5 x 2.7 cms. Shank – X 1/2. Weight an impressive 19.7 gms. 40 and to USA is 26.40. This is an antique / secondhand item in used condition commensurate with its age – please look at my photos carefully before purchasing. A BEAUTIFUL RARE pair of RUDOLSTADT VOLKSTEDT VERY LARGE figures, 19th century. Also, in Meissen style. They are VERY FINELY modelled as Greek Gods I think. VERY IMPRESSIVE, and BEAUTIFUL. Fully marked to the undersides of the bases with the RARE RW mark, and other information. They are 16 1/2 ins high, and 17 3/4 ins high to the raised hand. They are also very heavy. CONDITION:- EXCELLENT considering how vulnerable they are and great age. For accuracy sake, upon close inspection, I note that the lady is just about perfect, with only one figure with chip to her single finger of her hand at waist. Surprisingly, no damage to her raised hand. The man has his hand at waist re-stuck, and those fingers tiny chipped.
