VERY RARE Vintage Florence Ceramics Cinderella and Prince Charming Large Figurine made in 1957. This particular piece by 70 year old Florence Ceramics is a much coveted item for the collectors, it’s just that rare. Even more rare is to find it in this condition which is in good condition aside from a few issues! Florence Ceramics began in a garage in Pasadena, California in 1942. Then things began to move very quickly for Florence as her pieces hit like a wave on the market place. Florence often produced figurines embellished with slip-coated lace, which burned away during the firing leaving the delicate ceramic replica. Delicately articulated fingers were another defining feature of Florence Ceramics figurines, and twenty-two karat gold accents provided the final touch. This piece is well known for its lovely details which include: carefully molded and painted hairstyles, incredibly fine details on the hand painted faces, delicate slip-coated lace on Cinderella’s bodice and crown,’spaghetti porcelain’ epaulettes on the Prince’s shoulders and boot pom poms, the finely molded and painted details on the Prince’s uniform including the chest, collar, belt and boots and the incredibly elegant postures of both Cinderella and the Prince as they are caught in the most delicate and romantic pose. Cinderella’s gown is particularly lovely as it flows and swirls. A fine mist of pink and blue pastel paints combine in spots to appear purple and suggest an iridescent quality. There are accents of hand painted real 22K gold throughout. Stored in a glass cabinet in my pet and smoke free home.
