Antique very rare large Minton Majolica pink jardiniere lotus flowers c 1856
Outstanding high quality antique and large Majolica jardiniere, manufactured by Minton around 1856. Very rare beautiful pink blush color. White stoneware body, moulded in overlapping lotus leaves enamelled in pink. Wonderful white lotuses coming out in reliëf. I believe there is Minton symbol on the bottom for year 1856, impressed ” New Stone “. Diam top 28 cm.

This incredible piece of rare Deruta pottery is an enormous flask/jug in amazing condition! Hand painted portrait of a woman, and tin glazed, it even has the hand-made wooden spout at the bottom! There is no cork for the open top and the flask doesn’t stand on it’s own with the rounded bottom. For it’s age its in remarkable condition and I can find no cracks or damage. Even though each piece of Deruta is hand-made, I have not seen another Deruta piece like this! This is very large, measuring 18″ tall x 11″ wide and heavy. Signed on the back Marcucci Deruta, RIP. Large Copeland Majolica Jardinière, Trough or Planter in the renaissance style, with two. Handles, and a satyr mask either side. Manufactured in England some time between 1860 to 1880. The dimensions 15″ Long x 8″ High x 9 1/2 Wide (37.5cm Long x 20cm High x 24cm Wide). Condition; there is a little damage to one handle which is shown in the photos, otherwise it’s a great piece – and still a practical, decorators item.
