VERY RARE GEM CARVINGS Chinese Large AVENTURINE Guardian Lions Imperial Green. These matching pair of Chinese Guardian Lions are made of Aventurine. Aventurine is actually more dense and harder than jade. Extremely rare to find a pair of Aventurine carvings that are this large and of such a lovely uniform green color. These two magnificent pieces are mounted on fine custom wood bases believed to be Huanghuali but we are not absolutely sure. Imperial green and of Imperial quality. They are attached to the wood bases. Carvings of this size and quality are much more rare than Jade. This pair is large, heavy, very cold to the touch and in perfect original condition. Base + Carving : Height = 6&3/8″ (165 mm) Length = 4&3/4″ (122 mm) Width = 4 (104 mm). Carving Alone : Height = 5&1/4″ (135 mm) Length = 3&1/4″ (85 mm) Width = 2&3/4 (70 mm).
