An exceptionally rare sign in a very eye catching & regal design, manufactured by The Falkirk Iron Company & featuring some fantastic colours and a great gloss. A wonderful sign, perfect for a kitchen cafe or restaurant! Early 20th century The sign measures around 137cm x 91cm. Wear commensurate with age, comparatively good overall, wear & a small amount of wear/loss to the bottom left corners. Please see the last image in particular, we moved the sign to our new premesis recently & the lower right hand corner was damaged by the removal guys, this is not shown in the other images. This fur clip is 3. It is very early TRIFARI. It has an intricate and elaborate design done in tri-color gold tone with rose gold and white gold and light gold studded with small french paste clear rhinestones. The top is a floral bouquet with clear stones and a large cluster of beautiful green stones. The back has the double prong fur clip and is signed TRIFARI with the crown. This is an extraordinary substantial very high quality early Trifari piece. This is in very good vintage condition, using magnification you can find some darkening tiny stones otherwise this looks like what it is, a very rich elegant part of the past. It is a very rare piece and very unlikely you will ever come across another. Very Rare Telegraph Pottery Art Nouveau Large Vase/Jardiniere Circa Early 20th C. 16 cm (6.25) high. Rare Art Nouveau large vase/jardinière, probably made in the early part of the 20th Century, in the USA by Telegraph Pottery. It is not easy to identify early 20th century (or late 19th century) Art Nouveau pieces. There were many being produced, both in Europe, and in the USA, but they are all very rare now. This particular example, does have certain affinities, with many of the US schools, like Teco, Rookwood, Rumrill, Red Wing, etc. All are very collectable, and this is a superb example. This piece has a brown and green drip glaze, and gorgeous Art Nouveau styled moulded decorations. It is embossed on the base, with the “Telegraph” name, and the number #4. Very good condition, no chips or cracks, but fine crazing throughout. This rare Art Nouveau piece would make a great addition to any collection. Check out my other items. Very Rare Find: Early 1700’s Moravian Large Double handled water Vessel Pottery Jug. We had the privilege of acquiring this incredible piece from an avid historical collector who is retiring. This is a large double handled water vessel from the early 1700s Moravian period. This beautiful piece stands 10.75 (over 27cm), and is 10 (25.5cm) wide. The opening at top is 5.75 (14.5cm) across. We tried to take many pictures to show exact condition of the piece. There are two small chips on the lip as pictures, but in extremely good shape for being 300+ years old. A little history about the Moravian People in the 1700s. The eighteenth century saw the renewal of the Moravian Church through the patronage of Count Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf, a pietist nobleman in Saxony. Some Moravian families fleeing persecution in Bohemia and Moravia found refuge on Zinzendorf’s estate in 1722 and built the community of Herrnhut. The new community became the haven for many more Moravian refugees. Count Zinzendorf encouraged them to keep the discipline of the Unitas Fratrum, and he gave them the vision to take the gospel to the far corners of the globe. August 13, 1727, marked the culmination of a great spiritual renewal for the Moravian Church in Herrnhut, and in 1732 the first missionaries were sent to the West Indies. This is an incredible piece and would make a centerpiece for most collections. On rare occasions it may take longer. This early tin mould was used in a chocolate shop for molding 3-dimensional pieces of chocolate in the shape of a horse. The subject is one of the more unusual ones and the size is stupendous. It is a nice old mold. It is unmarked , but is the flange of a Sommet from Paris. It is a nice unusually large mold, probably used to mold a stunning display piece. It measures 9″ tall x 10″ wide. I also feel that it is from around the turn of the 20th century, maybe a little earlier. The bottom is still attached, but is coming apart, there are many missing stitches on the outside, and just a hand full on the inside, rim stitching is complete. The outside measures 57″ around at the widest, the top opening is 14″ and it stands 14 tall. Photo’s #2 though #6 show the outside with 5 figures. Even with the damage, and slight lean that it has caused by the bottom being damaged, this basket displays well. Please enlarge photo’s as they are part of the description. This doll is believed to be an early German Papier Mache shoulder head doll from the mid or early 1800s. The doll is unmarked. She is 31 tall! The doll has a unique expression , black hair, exposed ears, and blue painted eyes. She has kid leather arms that appear to go all the way up to the shoulders. I have not completely undressed her, but the leather is intact at least passed her elbows. She has a cloth body which appears to be original and in good condition but may have been replaced over the years. The clothes are old but again, I cannot determine if they are original. The clothes are in fairly good condition with some tearing of the lace. Her face has multiple rubs and one larger chip on the forehead. There is some loss of coloring on her cheeks but they eyes are still very vibrant. All of these imperfections should be evident in the pictures. All of her fingers are in tact.
