Very Rare 1930s Large 4 Dog Head Art Deco Top Crown Perfume/Scent Bottle
Very Rare 1930s Large 4 Dog Head Art Deco Top Crown Perfume/Scent Bottle. Very unusual large-size Art Deco style crown-top figural perfume bottle depicting a very sweet head of dog. Upright flattened circular iridescent ceramic (lusterware) bottle with a beautifully well-sculpted dog’s head with a distrustful look on front and a gilded metal crown top stopper with cork. Back incised with a symbol similar to Mercedes Benz and “Made in Japan”, also a red stamp on bottom shows a crescent moon with a star on top and S. Unknown maker, made in Japan , circa 1930’s. 4 inches (10.2 cm) height. Bottle without chips, cracks or repairs of any kind. There is a faint, not noticeable, crazing line affecting only the glazed coating to the right side (see picture). Worn enamel to snout (picture #1). Otherwise, excellent overall condition. TRULY INCREDIBLE WORK OF ART! AFRICAN CARVED WOOD MASK!! Likely from East or Central Africa. This mask is carved out of one piece of wood. It is 16″ hi x 10″ wide x 12 deep. Hollow so it will fit over the head of a tribal member for ceremonial use! Currently displayed on a custom metal stand that is NOT INCLUDED. AMAZING LARGE AFRICAN CARVED CEREMONIAL MASK! A real dream item for any collector or decorator! It does not appear to have been cleaned or repaired in any way. The desirable natural patina is INCREDIBLE! These wood carved items usually have a few minor scuffs/cracks to be expected from something this old and special. This one piece wood carved mask is 14″ hi x 10″ wide x 13deep. VERY RARE JOMAZ MOGUL JEWELS OF INDIA LARGE LION HEAD BROOCH. Very Rare JOMAZ Mogul Jewels of India Large Lion HeadBrooch/PendantRare and wonderful Jomaz lion’s head brooch/pendant designed in 18k gold plated filigree base metal. The brooch is set with ruby red and sapphire blue oval cabochons. The stone at the bottom is a faux lapis with flecks of silver in it. A pearl is set in the lion’s mouth and his face and mane have a light blue wash. The brooch measures 4″ tall, 2 1/2″ wide, with a profile of 1/2 as the lion sits a top the filigree. The Jomaz hallmark is on the reverse. This unique and rare brooch is in excellent condition with no flaws. Mazer Brothers was founded by Joseph Mazer and his brother Louis in 1926 in New York. One of Mazer Bros. Best known designers was the talented Marcel Boucher who left to open his own company in the mid 1930s. In 1946 Joseph Mazer left Mazer Bros. To form Joseph J. Better known as JOMAZ, while Louis Mazer stayed with Mazer Bros. Until 1951, the year of his last jewelry collection. Was known for its innovative stance, exploring new design and production methods and continually experimenting with different techniques for creating metal alloys or for use in the refinishing processes.
