LARGE, UNUSUAL REVOLUTIONARY WAR POWDER HORN, Unusually Large, 15 Long. Particularly large Revolutionary War POWDER HORN, used to store powder and be used by individual riflemen. This one is a very unusual style, large size horn. VERY LONG, MEASURING 13″ from tip to tip and 15″ along the curve. Butt end cover is extremely unusual, and a piece of horn has been flattened and shaped to do this. Also has hole in the top as shown to put the cord, typical of the Revolutionary War period. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A HORN WITH THE BUTT PLATE MADE OUT OF HORN, AND REALLY NICELY MADE. Has nice tiny iron nail to hold the butt plug in, both from the end and on the side. Also has fancy pouring end with flattened sides. Has carved, threaded cap at the end. Lso made to have a second, threaded end cover/plug. Missing as they often are, but another could be made if desired. This has all the attributes, design, style, patina, and look of a Revolutionary War period horn. Has really nice color and horn characteristics. Clearly, it was a military used early horn, Has a great look to it, a great size, and an unusual, special look, for addition to a collection or to hang with a musket over a fireplace. VERY nice curve and nice aged patina to it. In very good condition overall. Very nice, unusual item and one of the nicer ones you will find. From a Massachusetts estate sale. STUNNING RARE & VERY UNUSUAL LARGE CASTLE HEDINGHAM VASE. THIS IS A SUPERB, AND I SHOULD THINK VERY RARE, LARGE AND ECCENTRIC VASE (ALTHOUGH IT DOESN’T LOOK IT, IT IS) MADE BY THE ROYAL ESSEX ART POTTERY CASTLE HEDINGHAM FACTORY AND DATES FROM THE VERY LATE 19th. TO VERY EARLY 20th. IN TIN GLAZE WITH POLYCHROME LEAD OVER-GLAZE IT IS DEPICTED IN VERY UNUSUAL FORMAT WITH A PILE OF HIGH RELIEF RUINS TO THE BASE AND AN OCTAGONAL COLUMN RISING FROM ITS CENTRE EXTENDED BY ANOTHER FLUTED TUBULAR BLUE ONE WITH FLORAL SWAGS AND A ROUNDED RIM. IT IS MARKED TO ONE OF THE FRAGMENTS’HW’ (WHICH I SUSPECT IS THE ARTIST’S INITIALS, HOWEVER I’VE YET TO FIND HIM). WHILE THE BASE HAS’ANCIENT STONE PILE HOWER (sic) VASE ROYAL ESSEX ART POTTERY CASTLE HEDINGHAM’ – SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. THIS IS ONE OF THE STRANGEST, ECCENTRIC PIECES OF EARLY ART POTTERY I’VE COME ACROSS. IT MEASURES 10″ (25.5cm) H x 7 1/2″ (19cm) W ACROSS THE BASE APPROX; AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR THIS TYPE OF POTTERY WITH NO DEFECT AT ALL TO REPORT APART FROM A SMALL CHIP TO ONE OF THE YELLOW SWAG FLOWERS – AGAIN SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. Highly Exceptional Vintage MOP & Sterling Catholic Rosary w Rare Antique Medals. GENUINE ANTIQUES AND VINTAGES, COLLECTIBLE ROSARIES, IN PERFECT CONDITION, UNIQUE ITEMS TO CHERISH AND OFFER. All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection. They are genuine antiques? Older than 100 years? From 30 to 100 years old. All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use. The very exceptional and unique item in this listing, which is totally hand made by me, has the following characteristics: 1- The beads are all vintage beads of a New Old Stock dating from the 1920? S – from my private collection? Quality of the beads is exceptional as may be seen from close ups. 2- They have been newly mounted in chain form, using a sturdy sterling silver wire. 3- Ave MOP bead size is large 10 mm diameter round beads. The Pater beads are 10 MM MOP beads with, on each side, a Sterling vintage bead. 4- The parts of chain used are from a handmade old chain dating from the 1950? 5- The medals are antiques and originals, all in sterling silver, dating from early 20th Century. This first communion medal also has a Gold Chalice and the Mary medal has a gold center. 6- The rosary ends with a XIXth century Mother of Pearl and Sterling cross of typical Art Nouveau style 7- Size of the cross is: 80 x 45 mm or 3.2 x 1.8 in. 8- Total weight of the rosary is a heavy 133 grams!!!!! This rosary contains than 80 grams of sterling silver 9- Total length is 76 cm or 30.4 in. 10- All metal parts are sterling silver. This is a Unique item in all respects : – beads are perfect, large, vintage and of top quality and cut – Medals are all antiques, Sterling Silver and of great rarity as well as in pristine condition.. The cross is large, unique and of great beauty. Very Imposing size and weight. Very heavy in Sterling silver.
