RARE 1/6 PLATE TINTYPE- SMILING GIRL WITH CHINA DOLL IN ORNATE DOLL CARRIAGE. Rarely do you ever find a large five by seven inch tintype of a child holding a very rare doll like this young girl. I believe the doll is either a sought after French, BRU or Jumeau. The girl’s face matches her doll in many ways, wouldn’t you agree? I love the large bow in her hair and how they wore nearly matching. Costumes on this fine day. Tough to find and there likely are few still out there. Pit to pit is around 19. Top of collar to bottom of shirt is around 26. As mentioned, the shirt has several spots.

Very rare NORMAN ACKROYD RA Large Limited Ed ETCHING edition 16/18 1973
A large and very rare etching with aquatint by Norman Ackroyd which we cannot find anywhere else, hence do not know the title. A very small edition size of just 18, numbered 16/18, signed in pencil, dated 73. 57x 65.5cm plate size. Ackroyd did a number of abstract landscape works in the 70s. Unframed, in excellent clean condition. Recognised as one of Britain’s finest printmakers and master of the etching process, Norman Ackroyd studied at Leeds College of Art followed by the Royal College of Art under Julian Trevelyan. He was elected Royal Academician in 1988 and Senior Fellow in 2000. His work is widely collected in the UK and overseas.
