VERY RARE LARGE 8 FRAMED MINTON TILE by JOHN MOYR SMITH. This really is a superb, and I would think very rare I’ve not seen this design set in the past – I originally thought it maybe from the seasons series, unfortunately, or fortunately it’s not. And large framed transfer printed dust pressed Minton wall tile designed in, I think, 1870’s-80’s by John Moyr Smith and depicts a man engaged in agricultural work inside a floral border. In a framed large (8) form wall tile it is decorated with a sepia image of the mentioned scene enclosed inside the foliate border. It measures 8 (20.5cm) approx (without the frame); and is in really excellent condition with what can be seen – see photographs and details. This is a lovely rare early period Minton / John Moyr Smith designed tile in lovely condition and well presented which I’m sure will have great appeal to all collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE.
